Who is Cardstream?
Cardstream are a payment Gateway who is an independent provider of payment solutions, giving access to all payment options including credit card, debit card, wallets, Alternative Payment Methods – all from a single platform and open API.
A Gateway processes your transactions, however, does not hold or release funds to your business account, this is handled by your Acquirer, in this case Barclaycard.
How to migrate to Cardstream.
You will need to submit your details via the submission form found here.
Please note, you will have a discount reference found in your letter or email from Barclaycard. Cardstream will then share your details with Barclaycard.
Barclaycard will need to provide you a new Payment Service Provider (PSP) Merchant account. Once you have received this, to continue your migration please share your new PSP details via this form.
We will then provide you credentials to integrate your business with the Gateway.
How do I provide my new Payment Service Provider (PSP) MID to Cardstream?

What are the benefits of migrating to Cardstream?

How long does it take to set up the Gateway?
Once your Merchant Gateway Account is live you can start integrating straight away. This will require you to gain a new PSP MID from Barclaycard and provide it back to us. The sooner you do this, the sooner you benefit from our free processing until January 2026.
What is my Barclaycard Discount Reference and where can I find it?
This reference, which can be found in your letter or emails from Barclaycard and should be provided to ensure eligibility for free processing until January 2026.
What happens to my charges/rates/fees with Barclaycard?
Whilst Barclaycard are closing their Gateway service, they can remain your Acquirer and will continue to handle your acquiring rates, charges, and fees. We would encourage you to contact Barclaycard if you need to discuss these.
What are Cardstream’s charges/rates/fees.
Have you completed the Merchant Registration form on the website?
Upon completing your submission, you will be prompted to enter transaction volumes. There will be a number of transactions that will be included within your monthly fee processed free of charge. Thereafter, you will be charged the displayed pence per transaction.
When will I receive my first bill for processing?

Is your Gateway PCI: DSS Compliant?
Yes, the Gateway is PCI: DSS Level 1 compliant.
What fraud prevention tools does the Gateway offer?
The Gateway offers the following fraud prevention tools to each Customer:

Yes, our Gateway does offer a Virtual Terminal. You will have access to this in your Merchant Management System. You can review more details of capabilities by viewing the integration options, support and scrolling to the bottom where Virtual Terminal information is provided.
Does your gateway have a Merchant Portal (Merchant Management System)?
Yes, we have a Merchant Management System, where you can view transactions, you have processed with greater detail into success or decline reasons, as well as configuration options for acceptance criteria and set security settings. Full guides can be found on the Cardstream Knowledge.
What integration options do you have?
We offer Hosted and Direct Solutions with several shopping cart options, further details and integration opens can be found by visiting https://barclaycard.cardstream.com/integration-options-and-support.

What shopping cart modules or plugins do you support?
We support WooCommerce, Magento, OpenCart and Prestashop. However, we can connect you with a web developer who can discuss further options.
What currencies do you support?
Cardstream can support the same currencies you processed with the ePDQ Gateway/Smartpay checkout. Should you require support of additional currencies, please contact us at support.csbc@cardtream.com.
