Who is Cardstream?

Cardstream are a payment Gateway who is an independent provider of payment solutions, giving access to all payment options including credit card, debit card, wallets, Alternative Payment Methods – all from a single platform and open API.

Why is the ePDQ Gateway closing?

Barclaycard are withdrawing Smartpay Checkout following a decision made by the third-party supplier who supports the payment gateway. The supplier has decided to no longer support the current product capabilities.

What integration options do you have?

Have you clicked learn more and navigated through the options and support page on the website? If they require additional support, this is an escalation.

How long does it take to set up the Gateway?

Once your Merchant Gateway Account is live you can start integrating straight away.

What are your percentage fees?

Percentage fees are set by your Acquirer who you would need to contact directly.

When will I receive my first bill for processing?

We are offering free processing until 2026. You will be billed a per your tariff, during January, based on the date your gateway ID became live.

Merchant has requested further details on tariff

The tariff you are seeing has a monthly charge as displayed. There will be a number of transactions that will be included within your monthly fee processed free of charge. Thereafter you will be charged the displayed pence per transaction. If Merchant requests to discuss tariff, this will be an escalation via email.

Should you wish to discuss your tariff in more detail, please could you click the request a call button on the website and a member of our team will contact you. If the Merchant asks how long this usually takes – please advise the team will be in touch within 1 business day.

What fraud prevention tools does the Gateway offer?

The Gateway offers the following fraud prevention tools to each Customer:
  • CV2 (Security Code) Checking;
  • AVS (Address Verification System) Checking;
  • 3D Secure;
  • Direct Integration/IP Configuration;
  • Signature Key/Pre-Shared Key;
  • BIN Blocking (Merchant Accepted Card Types and Merchant Rejected Card Issuer Countries);
  • Velocity Checks;
  • Third Party Integration with Kount.
If the Merchant requires any further information, please escalate.

Does your Gateway offer a Virtual Terminal?

Yes, our Gateway does offer a Virtual Terminal  You will have access to this in your Merchant Management System. You can review more details of capabilities by viewing the integration options and support and scrolling to the bottom where Virtual Terminal information is provided.

Is your Gateway PCI: DSS Compliant?

Yes, the Gateway is PCI: DSS Compliant to Level 1.

Does your gateway have a Merchant Portal? (Merchant Management System)

Yes we have a Merchant Management System, where you can view transactions you have processed with greater detail into success or decline reasons, as well as configuration options for acceptance criteria and set security settings. What is my Barclaycard Discount reference and where can I find it?

This is a reference you can supply to benefit from free processing until 2026 and can be found on your letter or emails from Barclaycard.

I have reviewed your Terms and Conditions, and I do not agree with them.

What shopping cart modules or plugins do you support?

We support WooCommerce, Magento, OpenCart and Prestashop. If Merchant states any other name that these 4 – the response should be, we do not currently support these, however we can connect you with a web developer who can discuss options.
